When I bought this it was to see what it tasted like before I bought one of those "Just in Case" buckets this selection was included in. I faithfully followed the instructions and I wasn't impressed in the least. Imagine eating a bowl of cold, soggy cereal sitting out on the counter for half the day. That's what it was like eating this, and in an emergency situation this would have done nothing to improve my morale.

THEN, on a lark...and becuase I was using hot water for all the other Mountain House selections...I bought a second one and tried using hot water for this instead of cold water. HOLY SMOKE WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE. Instead of a bowl of soggy cereal it became a wonderful bowl of tasty hot oatmeal like my mother would give us on a dreary cold day when we were children. There are some times when I'm not only feeling too lazy to cook, I don't want to go out and pick up food or even be bothered to walk the trip to the fridge. Thanks to this wonderful packet of breakfasty goodness, I can procrastinate in ways undreamed of before.

This product was EXCELLENT. All I did was guess a half cup of water from a cold bottle into the packet and ate it straight from there. Good texture, excellent flavor. Will definitely buy again. The package has a inner zip-lock seal so that you can tarry on the disposal of the bag from your position of opulence.

Very tasty! I was surprised how good it tastes. Ate for breakfast on backpaking trips. Just the right amount and easy to fix as you only have to add cold water. Highly recommend.
